Description
Join us for a screening of the film The World's Toilet Crisis. Screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker, Lisa Biagiotti, and complimentary beer and wine. An estimated 2.6 billion people, about 40% of the world's population, have no access to toilets. The film investigates how countries are trying to solve an epidemic that few people want to talk about -- the world's toilet crisis. Discussion and Q&A after the film will be led by filmmaker Lisa Biagiotti. Lisa is an independent, multimedia journalist who has worked for PBS and Current TV. She has recently reported on the sanitation crisis in South East Asia and HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean and the American South. In 2009, Lisa was awarded the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for the videos she produced on the humanitarian crisis in eastern Congo. She received a Fulbright Fellowship to research Muslim migration trends in Italy and graduated with a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
