Illy’s two-day ’Coffee Expert’ course, held three times annually, gives coffee professionals and enthusiasts a rare opportunity to dive deep into the history, biology, chemistry and production of coffee, and get expert, hands-on training in coffee tasting and preparation. The course, adapted from illy’s renowned Università del Caffè, will be co-presented by Giorgio Milos, illy’s award-winning Master Barista visiting from Italy, and leading culinary expert David Rosengarten.
Striving to enhance Americans’ knowledge of quality coffee, illy first partnered with The International Culinary Center in 2009 to bring extensive coffee education to culinary professionals and coffee connoisseurs alike. Established in 1999 in Italy, illy’s Università del Caffè now promotes and disseminates quality coffee education throughout the world. There are now 22 international Università del Caffè sites.
