Fashion Community Helps 18,000 Orphaned Children in South Africa Play Sports
Irene Albright’s Mina Gallery, a luxury resale boutique and art gallery located in NoHo’s Cooper Square, and celebrity event planner extraordinaire, Colin Cowie are pleased to announce a charity benefit in celebration of The Children of Africa: Southern Africa Edition - a beautiful photographic book by renowned fashion stylist Alethea Gold and award winning children’s photographer, Luca Zordan.
All profits from the book and the evening will be donated to MaAfrika Tikkun, a non-profit organization that looks after vulnerable children suffering the effects of HIV/AIDS. More specifically, funds raised will help upgrade sports and soccer facilities for 18,000 orphaned children in six townships in South Africa. MaAfrika Tikkun's Chief Patron, Mr. Nelson Mandela, has hailed the works of this organization’s programs as a "miracle."
