Opening reception: Sunday June 20th, 2010 3:00pm to 8:00pm
Closing Reception: Sunday July 11th, 2010 3:00pm to 8:00pm
Gallery hours: Weekdays by appointment only for private viewings & Saturday June 26th, July 3rd, July 10th, 2010 from 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Why: The Dorsey Art Club celebrates with the opening of their 2nd Annual Thank You Art Show on Sunday June 20th 3:00pm to 8:00pm, which will run through July 11th, 2010.
The 2nd Annual Thank You Art Show will pay tribute and feature exquisite art work from over 50 fine African American and Caribbean artists who have participated in the Dorsey Art Gallery’s art shows and as well as, supported the Dorsey Art Club’s work in the community, in the past year.
Mediums will include acrylic on canvass, mixed media, linoleum print, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, collages, graphite on paper, pen and ink, bamboo colorgraph & photo etching with chinecolle.
Participating artists will include Brent Bailer, Kennis Baptiste, Che Baraka, Edward Bates, Michael Bates, Denzil Beliste, Joseph Bell-Bey, Beryl Benbow, Herb Bennett, Betty Blayton, Nancy Brandon, James Brown, Ramona Candy, Violet Chandler, Mary Chang, Sadikisha S. Collier, Stanwyck Cromell, Diane Davis, Francks Deceus, James Denmark, Doba, Joseph Fatal, Tafa Fiadzidbe, Eric Girault, Jimmy James Green, Fredrecia Hartley, Jim Hoston, Laura James, Tien Jameson, MLJ Johnson, Sharolet Kee, Gloria Aziza Lawyer, Yolene Legrand, Karl McIntosh, Louis Mims, Carlton Murrell, Angelle Myers, Otto Neals, Donovan Nelson, Alfonso Pastor, Patricia Pawpaw, Richandra Rhoden, Enid Richardson Moore, Thomas A. The closing reception will be held Sunday July 11th, 2010 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm.
Additionally, the Dorsey Art Gallery will be open on Saturday June 26th, July 3rd, July 10th, 2010 from 3pm-6pm and weekdays by appointment only for private viewings.

The Dorsey Art Gallery, established in 1970 by the late owner Lawrence Peter Dorsey is the oldest, continuously active, black-owned art gallery in New York City. The Dorsey Art Club created in 2003 is a committee of long-time friends of the gallery consisting of artists and collectors committed to the mission of promoting artists from communities of color though the hosting of exhibitions and special events at the gallery.
