Official Wimbledon sponsor HSBC will bring an authentic tournament experience to NYC with ’HSBC presents Wimbledon 2010 at Rockefeller Center’- a week of free activities Monday, June 21- Friday, June 25, from 7am-7pm daily at Rockefeller Center’s North Plaza, between 50th and 51st Streets and 5th and 6th Avenues, Manhattan.
Visitors are invited to play tennis on Manhattan’s only grass court, sample traditional Wimbledon treat strawberries & cream, play Wii tennis, get tips from the pros at Prince, and more. Activities are open to the public at no cost and include:
- Live Wimbledon Screenings 7am- 5pm, followed by classic footage till 7pm
- Singles tennis on Manhattan’s only grass court, call 212.525.2367 to reserve court times
- Prince Tennis Clinics- Get tips from pros June 22-25, 12-1:30pm/4:30- 6:00pm. Walk-ins welcome.
- Racquet restringing courtesy of NYC Racquet Sports daily from 12 - 2pm
- Play EA Sports™ Grand Slam® Tennis at Wii kiosks vs. fans on-site at Wimbledon
- Enjoy traditional Wimbledon treat strawberries and cream from California Giant Berry Farms
- Get exclusive Wimbledon content on your smart phone via QR codes posted at the venue
- Pose with Wimbledon Trophy through green screen technology, get your photo on-site
To celebrate the first day of Wimbledon on Monday, June 21 from 12-1pm, former world #1 ranked players Jim Courier and Monica Seles will play with select fans on the grass court. Syracuse tennis coach and former French Open doubles champ Luke Jensen will call the plays.
