| Description |
Mountains for Mark is an event born out of tragedy, friendship and service to our local communities. On November 29th, 2009 in Lakewood, WA, Sergeant Mark Renninger was murdered, one of four police officers shot in the line of duty. The nation watched in astonishment. One of those viewers was Martin Coleman, a New Yorker for the past 12 years and a Bethlehem, PA native as well as a high school friend and classmate of Mark and his brothers.
Martin and his friend Chris Eline who will be climbing Ranier together in August to honor Mark were both shocked by this senseless tragedy that devastated the Seattle area and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where Mark, Marty and Chris grew up. This event was conceived to honor Mark and his family.
Chris and I are climbing Mt. Rainier in August to raise funds for The Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem- Northeast Unit where Mark, his siblings and Chris spent our most formative years.
Please join us to support the Boys and Girls Clubs in honor of Mark on Tuesday, June 29th at 6pm at PS 450 on Park Avenue South - we have amazing raffle prizes and drink specials all night!
