Creative Hall of Fame Induction

oin The One Club at our 2010 Creative Hall of Fame Ceremony on March 4 in New York City, where we will be inducting Mike Hughes from The Martin Agency and the late Saul Bass. Under the leadership of Mike Hughes, The Martin Agency grew from a regional shop to a national powerhouse with accounts including Nascar, Hanes and Walmart. Hughes joined the agency in 1978 as a copywriter and went on to become President and Creative Director. His work has won every award in advertising and several of his clients such as GEICO and UPS have transcended advertising to become pop-culture icons. Saul Bass (1920-1996) is one of the most celebrated and influential graphic designers in the world. Best known for his title sequences for films such as "Vertigo" and "The Man With the Golden Arm," Bass was a pioneer and Oscar-winner in motion graphics and graphic design. He was also a prolific commercial designer, having created logos and identities for United Airlines, Minolta, the United Way and many others. Bass' influence can still be seen today with his playful, visual style carried out by a whole new generation of designers.
