The National Book Critics' Circle will have its annual awards ceremony followed by a reception to honor writers and their books published in 2009. On this list this year, from autobiography is the OPC's very own Kati Marton, Enemies of the People: My Family's Journey to America. In the nonfiction category, Wendy Doniger, Greg Grandin, Fordlandia, Richard Holmes, Tracy Kidder and William T. Vollmann. The NBCC also honors fiction, poetry, criticism and biography.
Jane Ciabattari, who serves on the OPC's Board as Secretary, is the President of the NBCC.
Reception will follow the reading and will be held at The Lang Center, 55 West 13th Street.
