ALL PROCEEDS are going to the organization New Eyes for the
Needy. This organization is better known for sending resources abroad but also helps visually-impaired people locally so that they too can live active and productive lives.
PLEASE BRING ANY USED EYEGLASSES OR SUNGLASSES YOU MAY HAVE. Collection bins will be set up inside the entrance of the venue.
The eyeglasses collected in good condition are sent to medical missions and international charitable organizations for distribution to the poor in developing nations. Last year New Eyes provided eyeglasses to 161,000 people in developing nations and 5,167 needy residents of the U.S. It costs $60 to purchase 1 pair of eyeglasses for someone in need. My goal is to raise $10,000 which will give glasses to 166 young people in the 5 boroughs.
