Thank You Tibet - A Celebration of Tibetan Culture

The Tibet Fund will present a special Thank You Tibet! program with Nobel Peace Laureates Jody Williams and Shirin Ebadi, Co-hosts Ann Curry and Michael Imperioli, Laurie Anderson, John Giorno, Philip Glass, Tenzin Kunsel, Bobby McFerrin, interfaith leaders, and Tibetan performers. This landmark program will honor His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people for their steadfast commitment to nonviolence as a path to peace and for safeguarding and sharing their unique culture with our global community. The program will feature excerpts from Kundun by Martin Scorsese and rare images from pre-1959 Tibet taken by Demo Tenzin Gyatso as well as messages submitted to the Thank You Tibet! campaign. The Tibet Fund is joined in this effort by the PeaceJam Foundation, The Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education, and the Nobel Women\'s Initiative.
