The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) kicks off its World Nomads Lebanon series with a special opening celebration featuring the acclaimed Bassam Saba Ensemble. The eight-piece ensemble will take the stage at Florence Gould Hall for one night only on May 1, 2010.
The Bassam Saba Ensemble is led by the Lebanese-born Bassam Saba, a preeminent figure in Arabic music and world-renowned virtuoso of the nay, who has helped develop the group's unique sound—a mix of classical/folk Arabic music combined with classical western influences.
Don't miss out on this evening of soulful and passionate musical performance!
World Nomads is a month-long, multi-disciplinary series held each May at FIAF, celebrating transculturalism in the twenty-first century and exploring the crossroads of culture and identity.
