The Young Associates of China Institute, a not-for-profit cultural and educational organization, are gearing up to present a spectacular Night of Fashion: Then and Now, showcasing the cultural evolution of Asian fashion from ancient Chinese dress to the contemporary styles of rising Asian-American designers Ann Yee, Arbitrage, Cody Sai and Janet Zheng. The exciting evening of fashion, art and cocktails will take place at CUE Art Foundation in New York on Wednesday, October 20th, 2010 from 6:30 - 9:30pm.
The Young Associates aim through this benefit to support and celebrate China Institute’s mission of advancing a deeper understanding of China through programs in education, culture, art and business. Guests will enjoy beverages, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Fresh Ginger, Ginger Ale, Icelandic Glacial Water, PopChips and more, followed by a fashion show with hair and makeup courtesy of The Temple - a Paul Mitchell Partner School. The fashion show will take us from ancient Chinese dresses spanning several dynasties (courtesy of TECO - Taipei Economic and Cultural Office) to modern-day styles (Spring/Summer 2011 Collections) of contemporary women’s wear designers Ann Yee and Cody Sai, along with menswear designers Arbitrage and Janet Zheng.
