826NYC presents the SPELLING BEAST, a most EXIGENT, OBSTREPEROUS Spelling Bee, where you and your team mates will have the opportunity to win PORTENTOUS and BEGUILING prizes while also supporting the free student writing programs of 826NYC.
A panel of RECALCITRANT judges, made up of the creators of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee musical, will challenge you and your fellow competitors, including Michael Chabon (Gentlemen of the Road), Catherine Keener (Please Give), Dave Eggers (Zeitoun), Kristen Schaal (Flight of the Conchords), and Ira Glass (This American Life), to spell the most VEXATIOUS words ever to make it into the English language. Your only chance of winning? Bribe, or, should we say, ’Bee-ribe,’ the judges.
