7th Annual Evidence…A Breath of Spring Gala, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 featuring Ronald K. Brown's acclaimed Evidence, A Dance Company; Cocktail Reception: 7:00 pm; Special performance by Evidence, A Dance Company, dinner, awards, dessert and dancing to follow at The Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center 311 West 34th Street, NYC, NY 10001.
The work of Evidence is made up of enduring, vital movement that viscerally communicates the
evolution of culture throughout the African Diaspora, incorporating dance, music and storytelling. The
dancers are specifically trained in the movement vocabulary, and the choreography has been sought
after by internationally renowned companies, such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and the
Dayton Contemporary Dance Company.
As The Company just celebrated their 25th Anniversary in 2010, they begin a new chapter and are
moving the Winter gala to the Spring. At the Gala, The Company will perform On Earth Together, a
work created by Ronald K. Brown inspired by the music of Stevie Wonder which had its world premiere
on February 8, 2011.
