On Saturday, April 30th, The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation will partner with the Tribeca Film Festival to present a 10th anniversary screening and a discussion of Ron Howard's A Beautiful Mind. A decade after the Oscar winning movie made Nobel Prize-winning mathematician John Forbes Nash Jr. a household name, the brains behind the film will come together in a post screening discussion. The conversation is a perfect example of the Sloan Foundation's mission: to explain science and technology through engaging popular culture. The panel will focus on the real life story behind the inspiring film.
WHO: NPR’s Ira Flatow, director Ron Howard, producer Brian Grazer, and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman—as well as its math consultant, Dave Bayer, author Sylvia Nasar, whose book inspired the film, and theoretical physicist and mathematician Brian Greene.
