Grammy-Award winning U.K. electro pop outfit DIRTY VEGAS is set to appear at the Mercury Lounge on Wednesday, April 27 as part of a run of select dates. This will be a live show with Dirty Vegas’ Steve Smith on vocals, Ben Harris on guitar, Paul Harris on keys and Rees on percussion. Ready to capture the international dance floor once again, Dirty Vegas’ show is in support of their new studio album Electric Love—due out April 26, 2011 (Om Records)—that marks the explosive return of the group that broke barriers between pop and electronica with their seminal track “Days Go By.” For their third album, they find that elusive sweet spot between the slickly polished electronic sounds of their past and a more decidedly rock edge, deftly balancing beats and guitar-led melodies. Guitar riffs and twittering synths flirt like natural bedfellows on songs such as “Little White Doves” and “Emma.” There are also the singles “Electric Love”--with its bass-heavy dance floor stomp is now making waves with its video featuring actress Jena Malone (The Soloist, Donnie Darko), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlPzeJ1et8Q — and “Changes”.
