This year's event is based around a concert performance of the fantastical opera based on the beloved children’s book by Maurice Sendak - Where the Wild Things Are. Composed by Oliver Knussen to Sendak’s libretto, this enchanting work tells the tale of a little boy with a wild imagination. City Opera has teamed up brothers Danny Simmons and Russell Simmons's Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation to feature set designs drawn by the creative students in their programs. Afterwards, a buffet lunch is accompanied by educational and artistic activities, dancing, a make-your-own sundae bar, and many more delights! Honorary Chairs are Danny Simmons & Russell Simmons and the Co-Chairs include: Rae Alexander-Minter, HRH Princess Alexandra of Greece, Julie Bernstein, Amanda Brainerd, Lea Carpenter, Caroline Cronson, and Sarah Fels Steel.
Location: David H. Koch Theater, Lincoln Center
