BETTE DAVIS AIN’T FOR SISSIES is a one-woman show written and starring Jessica Sherr. The show is set on Academy Awards night 1939. After the LA TIMES prints the names of the winners, Bette knows that Vivian Leigh will win Best Actress for her role in Gone With the Wind. Bette decides to leave the ceremony before the awards presentation begins, but her mother, Ruthie, convinces her to stay until the end. What ensues is an interior dialogue, with historically accurate details, as well as an insight into the struggle and fight of an actress whose voice would not be quelled. Running Time: 55 Minutes
