Our Opening Reception is a pre-Valentine's day showing and sale of Artworks, Artisanal Perfumes, Handcrafted Jewelry, & Local Honey.
The inspiration for the Honey show comes from the desire to create an ambient mood - a cultivated atmosphere of lusciousness in the Gallery, and from the floral nectar itself. Some artists directly reference honey as a medium; Honey oozes out of a sculpture on display, a crystalline sugar form filled with raw honey must be smashed to reach the jewelry inside, and honeycomb patterns find their way into rings and pendants.
Honey as a term of endearment, expresses the celebration of a sweetheart and is often invoked during the month of February.
Rich, vibrant colors speak through photography and paint, offering provocative works of mixed media, and sensual imagery that will tantalize and enrapture as we, like bees, drink in, reviving and replenishing in an atmosphere designed to engage our senses.
Art, Jewelry Works, Handmade Perfumes, and Local Honey will be available for purchase at the opening and during the duration of the show. Honey will be on display in the Gallery Feb 10 - Mar 10, 2011.
