Playwright Andrea Fulton has based her play on a true story of her ancestors in 1800's New Orleans. The central character is Charley, a mulatto, who is faced with choosing whether or not to "pass." Fulton blends serious issues with charm, subtlety, and live music on banjo, guitar, saxophone, organic percussion, and harmonica.
