Geoffrey Zakarian’s grand café on East 50th Street, recently introduced a to-go menu for the beach bound to take on the Hamptons jitney. Priced at just $17, this is a grown-up version of a brown bag lunch and can be the perfect accompaniment to watching the fireworks from any public spot in the city. Neatly wrapped in rustic brown paper, this to go meal includes tasty menu items created by Executive Chef Paul Corsentino and Pastry Chef Marisa Croce that were specifically created to travel well, namely a choice of a Roasted Portobello Sandwich or Smoked Chicken Sandwich; a choice of a fresh fruit (apple, pear or orange) or Assorted Housemade Cookies (varieties include Shortbread, Ginger Snaps or Marisa’s tribute to the Classic Oreo); and a bottle of Hildon Sparkling or Still Water.
