The Children’s Museum of the Arts and the Hudson Square Business Improvement District, along with other neighborhood partners, are hosting a free Family Art Festival on three Saturdays in July as part of the New York City Department of Transportation’s New York Weekend Walks 2011 program. The free Family Art Festival will feature large-scale murals, kid-made film workshops, sculpture, family music time and other art workshops.
Taking place on three Saturdays in July — July 9, July 16 and July 23 — from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., CMA and the Hudson Square BID will host the free Family Art Festival on Charlton Street, between Hudson and Greenwich. The block will soon serve as home to CMA’s new, larger, state-of-the-art space scheduled to open in the fall of 2011.
