This month’s movie is The Red Balloon, the whimsical story of a red balloon with a mind of its own that follows a little boy around the streets of Paris. This endearing, live action short film by Albert Lamorisse captures the magic of childhood and has been a favorite of critics and fans for more than half a century, winning an Academy Award in 1957 for best original screenplay.Charlotte’s Place is a new gathering space in Lower Manhattan.
