The José Limón Dance Foundation is pleased to present, at its June 9th Gala, a performance of Limón’s 1958 masterpiece MISSA BREVIS, live in collaboration with the 40-member choir Voices of Ascension, conducted by Dennis Keene. Missa Brevis was last performed in New York ten years ago at Riverside Church. Also on the program is an excerpt from A CHOREOGRAPHIC OFFERING and THE MOOR’S PAVANE, both also performed to live music. Another special treat at the Gala will be a piano interlude by the gifted pianist Anna Celeste.
