Gardening is an endeavor that plunges deep into the mysteries of the Divine. As part of Trinity Wall Street’s 17 Days Festival, Sister Miriam Therese MacGillis, OP will explore the planting of seeds as a single sacred story with deep possibilities for healing our endangered planet on Saturday, June 18th from 10am- 3pm at Trinity Church (offices, 74 Trinity Place and churchyard, Broadway at Wall Street). In the afternoon, Kevin Currie, Trinity's gardener-florist-groundskeeper will lead participants outside to plant flowers in the beautiful Trinity churchyard. Admission to the lecture and planting is $25 and includes lunch. For registration and information, contact ChristianFormation@trinitywallstreet.org or call 1-800-457-0224.
Sister MacGillis founded Genesis Farm, a learning center where people of good will are welcome to search for more authentic ways to live in harmony with the natural world and each other. In 2005 she received the Thomas Berry Award, and in 2007 was named among the planet's top 15 green religious leaders by Grist magazine.
