The 15th Spirit of Anne Frank awards

In honor of the anniversary of Anne Franks 82nd birthday (June 12), 2011 The Anne Frank Center honors Annes effort to improve the world with awards to citizens and educators and scholarships to students who have demonstrated outstanding commitments to take a stand against discrimination of all kinds.The 15th annual Spirit of Anne Frank Awards is in development for this June 13th 2011 and will be held at ESPACE in New York City. The Center is proud to honor Mr. Sy Sternberg, Retired Chairman and CEO of New York Life. Mr. Sternberg will be honored for his inspiring philanthropic efforts, including positions on the Boards of Northeastern University, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and the Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY. We will award a number of additional Educator, Student and Citizen Awards, as well as a four-year scholarship to a college-bound Outstanding Youth. The Spirit of Anne Frank Awards dinner and ceremony is our primary annual fundraiser. It helps us fulfill one of the organizations primary goals, i.e., to illustrate the importance of personal responsibility by honoring individuals whose endeavors teach others to confront prejudice and intolerance.
