NYCREW Network will examine the critical role Emily Warren Roebling played in the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge by hosting Women Shaping New York, a Leading Ladies event.
Kristian Roebling, a member of the board of directors of The Roebling Museum will tell attendees about the daily involvement of his great-great-grandmother in the construction of the bridge. Joining him will be Claire Weisz and Andrea Woodner, founders of The Design Trust for Public Space, a not-for-profit organization that brings together neighborhoods, public agencies and design professionals to improve the city, and Courtney Clark, a project engineer for Weidlinger Associates. Moderating the panel will be Wanda Bubriski, executive director of Beverly Willis Architecture.
Attendees must register by 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 11 to receive the advance registration rate of $50 for NYCREW members, $65 for CREW chapter members, $95 for nonmembers and $30 for graduate students.
