Naif Al-Mutawa, clinical psychologist and creator of The 99, the first group of comic book superheroes born of an Islamic archetype, will give a lecture titled "The 99 and Challenging Muslim Stereotypes".
The 99, published in 2007, is the first comic book directed at an international audience and the first to be developed in the Middle East. Forbes magazine named The 99 as one of the top 20 trends sweeping the globe.
This event is part of a new campus-wide thematic initiative, "Mosques, Veils, and Madrassas: Muslims and Institutions of Justice in Pluralistic Societies."
