Description 
The Industry LIC, Long Island City’s newest condominium residence from the developers of Silvercup Studios, will host an exhibition of Long Island City’s most promising emerging artists. The Industry Art Show, curated by Jeffrey Leder Gallery, will have an opening reception on Tuesday, May 17th from 5 - 8 p.m., that will serve as a highlight of the week-long celebration of art that is the inaugural LIC Arts Open. The exhibit will showcase the work of eight local artists, each with their own dedicated ground floor studio gallery, and celebrates the emergence of LIC as a leading cultural, residential, dining and nightlife center along New York’s East River. The local artists selected for the exhibit include: Lisa DiClerico, Magda Dejose, Brandon Friend, Jim Hubble, Yukiko Kobayashi, Paul Moreno, Evan Read and Rachael Wren. All of the artwork is available to be purchased by art lovers of all means. The Industry Art Show is part of the first annual LIC Arts Open, a week-long celebration of art that runs from May 14th - May 22nd and is designed to showcase Long Island City’s thriving art scene, home of MoMa’s PS1 contemporary art center, The Noguchi Museum, Socrates Sculpture Park and the greatest concentration of art in New York City outside of Manhattan. The exciting week of events, all of which are open to the public, and many of them at no charge, will include: gallery shows, music & dance performances, food events, tours and workshops. The Industry Art Show will open on Tuesday evening May 17, 2011, and the show will run until June 23rd. Admission to The Industry Art Show is FREE and the exhibit is open from 10 AM - 6 PM 7 days a week during that period. The Industry LIC is easily accessible by the E, M, 7 and G subway lines.
