World Nomads Morocco: Regenerating Morocco's Architecture

Architect and historian Jean-Louis Cohen will lead a panel discussion with architects Aziza Chaouni and Tarik Oualalou, examining current rehabilitation projects and developments in Morocco within the context of the political and cultural patterns underlying the country’s regeneration. Presentations by Chaouni and Oualalou will explore issues including the historic preservation of Morocco’s urban center/medinas as living environments, the preservation of local architectures, the challenge of mass housing, and sustainable desert tourism.
