The Osmothèque in Versailles is a unique fragrance archive, established in 1990, to preserve all the perfumes ever created. This remarkable holding houses some 2,300 fragrances, the oldest of which dates back to the 1st Century.
Osmocurator Christophe Laudamiel, who has created perfumes for Tom Ford and The Estée Lauder companies, invites you on an olfactory journey through history with samples provided exclusively by the Osmothèque to the Academy of Perfumery & Aromatics in New York.
Discover an array of scents and their stories, from the first alcoholic perfume, Eau de la Reine de Hongrie, to the Eau de Cologne de Napoleon, and the original Chanel No. 5.
