After an epic bi-coastal battle last January, it's time for Round 2 - it's EAST COAST vs. WEST COAST, as mashup DJs and performers from two coasts take over BOTH sides of Public Assembly! To help get the battle kicked off, and to get you in the mood to groove, we've got an OPEN PBR BAR from 9-10pm. Plus we've got FREE November Bootie mashup CDs for the first 100 people through the door. Both rooms will be alive with the most clever, genre-clashed combinations of music possible, where you'll be hearing the best mashups from producers around the globe, to get you primed for the dancefloor. Representing the EAST COAST, New York City's finest bootlegger, LOBSTERDUST, will be joined by WFMU's BILLY JAM, as well as fellow New York DJ DAW-GUN. And soprano chanteuse REBECCA CLOUDY will be belting out a live vocal number for the Midnight Mashup Show. East coast represent! Representing the WEST COAST, famed Bootie party founders and DJs ADRIAN & MYSTERIOUS D -- hailing from San Francisco, and just back from their recent Southeast Asia tour -- will be joined by Bootie Seattle resident DJ DESTRUKT. And for the Midnight Mashup Show, drag queen PRINCESS KENNEDY will grace the stage. Adrian might even sing a few live mashups throughout the night as well. West siiiiide! And finally, New York nightlife photographer extraordinaire NICKY DIGITAL will be there to capture the evening and all your good times. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bootie Brooklyn is brought to you by Shaw Promotion and Bootie NYC SHAW PROMOTION -- http://www.ShawPromotion.com - Voted "Best Promoter" by Village Voice (2006), L Magazine (2007, 2008) and Paper Magazine Nightlife Awards (2008, 2009) - "Shaw Promotion out-hipsters Flavorpill by a mile" - Tricia Romano, Village Voice ABOUT BOOTIE -- http://BootieMashup.com Launched in 2003 in San Francisco by DJs Adrian & Mysterious D aka A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night in the United States dedicated solely to the burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Mixing and matching every conceivable musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party where everyone feels welcome, Bootie provides the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation -- with free mashup CDs given away like candy! As the SF Weekly wrote, "Vinyl-only DJs may sniff at this pair's hard drives, but Bootie's DJs certainly know how to rock the party ... committedly unpretentious and ready to rock, they deliver the perfect remedy for the occasionally snooty, often staid dance scene."
