The Fall Gala marks Dia’s return to Lower Manhattan where it is developing a new space for exhibitions and programs on far West 22nd Street. Dia pioneered the Chelsea art district where it continues to host lectures by contemporary artists and readings by world-renowned poets.
The evening will feature the first-ever live performance by Girl Walk // All Day, a high-energy, experimental dance group led by Anne Marsen and directed by Jacob Krupnick. The team is in the process of creating a feature-length dance music video set to the latest Girl Talk album.
The event space is conceptualized by Giorgio Armani. Printed materials are by Triboro Design, and catering by Creative Edge.
Paris-based Sebastien Perrin will DJ the invitation-only After Party, hosted by W Magazine and featuring tray-passed sweets and Armani Dolci.
Guests will receive limited edition copies of W Magazine’s Art Issue which features a new work by Chinese artist and dissident Ai Weiwei, who directed the project under house arrest in Beijing via Skype after being released in June from a 81-day detention by Chinese authorities.
