Hearing Health Foundation (formerly Deafness Research Foundation) will
host its annual fundraising reception Celebrating the Senses on Monday, October 3, 3011
from 6PM - 8PM in the Library Reading Room at the New York Academy of Medicine. This
exclusive event will bring together 250 of New York’s most influential socialites, opinion
leaders, professional athletes, titans of industry, and brilliant scientific minds for an evening of
culinary delights, live entertainment, and a silent auction with one-of-a-kind items and
experiences. This year’s reception will feature a live performance by SRC/Universal Republic
recording artist Shontelle and the premiere of a multimedia art installation by composer and
artist Jay Alan Zimmerman, whose work utilizes rhythmic video projections, visual music, and
synesthesia to truly celebrate the senses.
Hearing Health Foundation has long been at the forefront of trailblazing initiatives in the
hearing sciences. The Celebrating the Senses reception will immediately follow the Summit
2011: The Promise of Cell Regeneration, a consumer focused conference, which is free of
charge, open to the public and brings together the world’s leaders in the field of cell
regeneration research in the ear to discuss current research and potential therapies to restore
hearing. Proceeds from the reception will benefit the Hearing Health Foundation in its mission
to attain a cure for hearing loss through quality research, education, and advocacy.
Tickets begin at $250.00 per guest and are available for purchase by visiting:
