Two Day Arm Wrestling Championships set for Queens County Farm Museum’s Annual Fair
Sept, 17- Kids, Teens, Novice Adults and Sept. 18 Amateurs and Pros
Floral Park, Queens, NY. Sept. 1, 2011--- The New York Arm Wrestling Association announced today that over 150 men, women and children will flex their muscles and come to grips at the 34th Annual two-day Queensboro Arm Wrestling Championships. The events will begin on both days at 1 p.m. on the main stage located within the fairgrounds at the Queens County Farm Museum’s Queens County Fair, 73-50 Little Neck Parkway Floral Park, Queens, New York 11004. General admission is $7 and $4 for children under 12.

The NYC Junior and Adult Novice Arm Wrestling Championships will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. for boys and girls 7 to 17 years old and novice male and female adults in various weight and age categories and awards will be given for first, second and third place. Everyone will have an opportunity to compete for the price of general admission. A parent or guardian signature is required for anyone17 years old and under.

The 34th Annual Queensboro Armwrestling Championships will be held on Sunday, September 18 at 1:00 p.m. contestants will compete for the White Castle 34th Annual Queensboro Armwrestling Championships which are part of the New York 'Golden Arm' Series and consists of six preliminary championships held in each of the Boroughs and Long Island and culminates into the Empire State Final in November. There are 13 Amateur and Pro weight class categories for men and women and awards are given for first, second and third place. Queens Strongest man and women will receive the Queens MVP award and $100 cash prizes. Entry Fee is $20 and does not include admission.
Gene Camp, the founder and president of the New York Arm Wrestling Association said, ’The White Castle Queensboro Arm Wrestling Championships is the oldest of all the NYC Borough championships because the first official NYAWA event was held in Queens in 1977 at the old Sunnyside Gardens in Queens.’ Camp continued, ’The Queens championships are also one of the most exciting events of the NY Golden Arm Series because Queens has some of the best ranked arm wrestlers of the entire city and challengers have come locally, from the tri-state area and from far away as Russia, Turkey and Brazil for the challenge. We are also excited about crowning the NYC Junior Champions, which is a great audience crowd pleaser’.
