Each year, the AGBU Young Professionals of Greater New York (AGBU YPGNY) hosts a reception and silent auction with impressive gifts from luxury brands to raise money for children's education and after-school programming in Armenia.
As in the past, the beneficiary for this event is one of our meaningful Armenia-based projects, the AGBU Children's Centers. These three Centers, located in the capital city of Yerevan supplement the education of youth (ages 6-16) in art, dance, music, literature and athletics. Established in 1993, the AGBU Children’s Centers serve 3,000 students annually and act as an invaluable conduit of creative education. The 2012 sold-out reception, held at Open House Gallery in Soho, raised $25,000 for our cause, and we anticipate surpassing that figure this year
AGBU YPGNY has been on the New York scene since 1999 and represents a growing network of young, career-oriented Armenian Americans with charity at heart. Our goal is to give these successful individuals an outlet to interact with their community and stay close to their heritage. Today, our predominantly Manhattan-based membership comprises ranking individuals in a variety of fields, including finance, advertising, law, medicine, fashion and film.
