Last night, Persol opened the second of its three installments for the exhibition series, Persol Magnificent Obsessions: 30 Stories of Craftsmanship In Film at the Museum of Moving Image. The exhibition celebrates the work behind some of cinema's most iconic and memorable on-screen moments. The exhibition was planned to span over three years, with each year featuring 10 different works. The exhibit would feature 30 pieces in total, which happens to be the same number of steps taken to create a pair of Persol sunglasses. More»


Monday night marked the presentation of the new Stella McCartney Spring 2013 collection. The event, which was sponsored by Belvedere Vodka, took place at the Marble Cemetery. McCartney's unveiling included a series of carnival type stands to keep guests of all ages entertained, and also featured designer cocktails, and appetizers. More»
On May 31, Recess held their benefit auction, Three's A Crowd: Recess Benefit 2012 at the Salon at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. Recess, a non profit artist's workspace that is available for public use, auctioned off exceptional works in a silent auction and the event marked three successful years of artists' projects. More»

Last night in NYC, the Whitney Museum of Art celebrated at the Skylight Soho for the museum's spring fundraiser. The fundraiser was to raise funds for the new Whitney space set to open in 2015. The event was co-chaired by Oliver Theyskens, Denise Incandela, and Bettina Prentice. Theory and Saks Fifth Avenue co-sponsored the event along with Chandon Sparkling and Belvedere Vodka. The French fashion house, Chanel, has taken their popular little black jacket, originally launched in 1954, and created an exhibit featuring 113 black & white photographs of celebrities adapting the unisex jacket into their own style. The one-week exhibit kicked off last night in SoHo at 18 Wooster Street with an exclusive party.
Lagerfeld collaborated with French Vogue editor, Carine Roitfeld, to create the $98 coffee table book which will be compiled of the photos from the exhibit, and titled The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisited. The book will be available for purchase on August 15.

Last night, singer/songwriter Alicia Keys, photographer Annie Leibovitz, and HBO's Co-President Richard Plepler were guests of honor at The Gordon Parks Centennial Gala. This year marks the centennial of the birth of Gordon Parks, the famous photographer, filmmaker, musician, and writer. Anderson Cooper hosted the event at the MoMA, while John Legend, Paul Roth and Senator Christopher Dodd presented. More»
An artist praised and recognized for his high culture contrasted with low culture, Rashaad Newsome has created a distinct language for himself and his work. From using chamber music to hip hop instrumentals in his work, his pieces reach a performance level cutting through mediums of video, collage, and sculpture. He creates new dimensions of perspective, drawing upon these subcultures that, in fact, have quite a lot in common.

Last night, the Real Housewives of New York's newest cast member Aviva Drescher hosted the show's season 5 premiere party at Frames Bowling Lounge. Drescher was joined by fellow and former Real Housewives cast mates, family and friends for an evening of bowling and philanthropy. On Thursday, Patricia Field, the stylist best known as the costume designer for "Sex and the City," hosted the grand opening for her new SoHo store. The new location is part of the home she used to live in, and features two floors of clothing, wigs, jewelry, and other accessories. She carries designers such as Tom Tom Fashions, Deryck Todd, and House of Field for Keith Haring. The store even has a full service salon so customers can get their hair done while shopping. More»
