The popular downtown Carribean hotspot, Miss Lily's, celebrated the one-year anniversary of Miss Lily's Variety Shop this week with the release of their VP Records album, aptly named Miss Lily's Family Style. The reggae series is a compilation of hits selected by Miss Lily's family of DJs, including main resident DJ of Radio Lily, Max Glazer, who executive produced the first installment with the restaurant's founding partner Paul Salmon. We got a chance to chat with the impressive DJ about the release, his passion for dancehall music, and being part of such an amazing family at Miss Lily's. Goldbar is known for many things: a gilded decor fit for kings but enjoyed by downtown New Yorkers, late-night Sunday ragers, and a damn difficult door. This week, GoldBar is having a grand re-opening to present their new features, and we had a chance to talk to partners Shaun Rose, Jonny Lennon, and Udi Vaknin for an inside sneak peek. We checked out the new space and found out what the nightlife veterans had to say about the changing industry, and picked their brain on some upcoming projects.

With big name designers like Marc Jacobs, Prabal Gurung, and Olivier Theyskens stopping by for the weekly Les Garcons party at Le Baron, you would assume that one of the NYC nightlife kings were behind this night. Despite the impressive guest list, Les Garcons is actually run by Michael Fragoso, an eager, 22-year-old PR guru, who has dipped his hands in one too many projects. The recent Parson's graduate has brought a much-needed, weekly gay night onto the scene at one of the most exclusive clubs in NYC, where the only requirement is for everyone to dress up and 'dance their pants off.' We had a chance to sit down with Fragoso at his Think PR office, and pick his brain a little. Read on for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes interview with the Les Garcons king himself.

John Derian’s store in the East Village is an Instagrammer’s dream and our founder Rachelle Hruska spent a morning last week asking John for some of his tips on how to get the most out of the holidays:
How does someone add drama to his or her home on a budget?
Candles: they have impact when you have lots. A couple of bags of votives will do the trick.

It's no wonder that a kid who used to run a speakeasy out of his Chicago basement would one day grow up to be one of NYC's biggest nightlife fixtures. From partying with Kanye to entertaining Prince at Kenmare, there's no such thing as a typical night out for Christian Alexander. He ran some of NYC's hottest spots, including Super Linda and The Box, so it's no wonder his famous friends have him on speed dial when they're in need of a good night in the city. And now, with his new book "The Secret Society: Modern Speakeasy Style and Design," which launches tonight at El Privado, we get an inside look into his exclusive world. More»
