Nearly a century ago, speakeasies defined Manhattan nights, making the social scene exclusive and elusive, just how New Yorkers like it. The covert entrances that once served to disguise the most lavish parties from the law now serve as an artful asylum from the tourists and masses. Although the goal of these venues is to remain undercover, nothing can stay secret for long in a city like New York.
