[Bruno Frisoni, Fabiola Beracasa, photos by NICK HUNT for Patrick McMullan]

Roger Vivier may have died in '98 but his whimsical and charming shoes will always have a life of their own. This sort of 'mood of the shoes' made for a very lively cocktail party at the Roger Vivier Store at 750 Madison Avenue. It wasn't just any cocktail party that brought out Bruno Frisoni (who is now Artistic Director of Roger Viver), Andre Leon Talley, Rachel Roy, Maggie Rizer, Peter Som and a ton of socials. This was a cocktail party to benefit New Yorkers for Children, founded by Nicholas Scopetta to support children in foster care.

Yesterday Andrew Parker's Upper East Side boutique Parker played host to a fundraiser for Trail Blazers. Trail Blazers is a is an award winning youth program that gives city kids the opportunity to get out of sticky New York for a few weeks in the summer. Campers experience camaraderie, fun, a bit of structure, and some reading lessons snuck in for good measure through outdoor experiential education, mentoring and leadership training. Campers plan their own activities including nature hikes, boat rides, swimming and all the other typical camp-type-fun-stuff, while living, playing and eating family style.

Girls Quest Tory burch

Though I'm far from being a fashion guru myself, when I walked into the warm orange glow of Tory Burch, I knew I was in for an exciting evening. This was the venue for the Girls Quest fundraiser, where an overwhelming amount of female supporters were flocking to for even evening of fashion and giving.

Girls Quest, an organization for disadvantaged female youth, has been active for 72 years and is becoming ever stronger and successful as the years go by. Positive awareness, relationship building and learning all form the cornerstone of this group. I had the opportunity to speak with Executive Director, Susan Hall, who enlightened me on the program's goals and speaking to me about the girls' achievements in social and academic competence building.

Anne FontaineWhen you meet the lovely and sophisticated designer, Anne Fontaine, you feel charmed by her presence. She personifies a graceful elegance and there is a resounding cleverness about her. It is of no surprise that she is a successful designer that has inspired many with her fashions – most notably, the ‘white shirt’. Anne has done for the white shirt what Gucci has done for the little black dress. So when Anne launched her flagship store on 62nd and Madison last night, the crème de la crème of Manhattan’s fashion guard swooned to take it all in.
