As we honor the 50th anniversary of JFK's death, we take a look at the grand legacy he has left behind. "The American Royal Family" still graces us with their presence, style, and grace. They continue the story of a lifetime in the eyes of the country, just like the Camelot years. The younger generation of the Kennedy family are making strides to make their family (and America) proud. Click through to see the newer Kennedys, and how they keep the family legacy strong.
Earlier this year, we brought you The Most Exclusive Members-Only Clubs In Manhattan, but now we stand corrected. The most exclusive members-only club is the enigmatic Zodiac Club, which has been in existence since 1868, yet is virtually unknown outside of the NYC historians and scholars. Check out the slideshow to learn more about the fraternity of twelve that has existed behind a curtain of elite secrecy. These industry titans have ruled the country from the tables of Manhattan clubhouses from the dawn of the first Gilded Age, through the crash of 1929, past the two World Wars into the New Gilded Age. Michelle-Marie Heinemann and Jon Heinemann are suing their children's private school for nearly half a million ($415,000 to be exact) after allegedly getting tricked into buying a $50,000 finger-painting designed by a class of kindergartners. The Heinemanns, who are regulars in the NYC social circuit, pulled children Hudson and Hyacinth out of the school and suing for damages-- "including $20,000 tuition to a new school, forfeited class fees for his little sister Hyacinth Cornelia and Hudson’s $60,000-a-year chauffeur." We took a look at their party history to find out just how much the family dominates the NY social scene. Click through to check out the Heinemann's social clout (Hudson & Hyacinth included!) in photos. More»
Last night, former Facebook president and Napster co-founder Sean Parker married singer-songwriter Alexandra Lenas in a Game of Thrones-themed wedding that was estimated to have ran up a bill of $10 million. The Saturday wedding was perfectly timed with last night's episode of Game of Thrones, "The Rains of Castamere," which centered around the wedding of Edmure Tully and Roslin Fre (for all the GOT fans out there). The details of the wedding have been slow to leak out (she's already changed her Facebook status to "married"), but here is what we know so far! More»
It's no secret that sometimes a girl just needs a little time away from the boys. The crop of popular female-only clubs around the country takes the concept of ladies' night to whole new levels. Now London is jumping on the bandwagon, opening up its first girls-only luxury health club this week. With a boutique service that handles all Net-a-Porter.com purchases, Grace Belgravia is definitely the chicest health club we've ever heard of. For those of you in need of girl time, but who can't quite jet off to London, click through for some New York-based girls-only clubs to try.
If you've spotted a quartet of long-legged beauties in the room at most of this season's fashion week festivities, and wondered who the elegant ladies are, you are not alone. The Courtin-Clarins girls are the Parisian heiresses to the Clarins empire, founded by their grandfather 60 years ago, but today they are making their own mark on the fashion world. This fashion week, we have seen them everywhere, from the pages of Vogue to the front row of shows. With four unique, but equally stunning looks and personalities, the girls have begun several ventures together (and apart) that are sure to make them household names. Take a look at our slideshow to get to know each one of the power foursome.
We all know them, The Roitfelds. They're one of the most alluring and fashionable families in the world. You might even go so far as to say that they're an international obsession - there are entire websites dedicated to them. But how much do you really know about The Roitfelds? Here are 10 things you might not have known about this fashion powerhouse(hold).
The island of Manhattan is home to the greatest concentration of private clubs in this country, and no, we are not talking about the velvet-roped doors of the Meatpacking District. These elite institutions date back to the early nineteenth century, modeled after the gentlemen's clubs of London and retain the codes of behavior from that era. The buildings are reverent but nondescript, the fees are astronomical, and the dress code is de rigueur. Here are 7 members-only clubs, where the upper echelon of New York Society can freely mix business with pleasure.
