By now, you've probably heard the devastating news that bottomless brunches are, and always have been, illegal in NYC. Monday's press release from the New York City Hospitality Alliance stated that "these type of promotions are UNLAWFUL according to the NYS Liquor Authority (SLA)." While the law prohibits unlimited drink specials, it does allow 2-for-1 and half price specials, so at least we're not in danger of completely loosing our beloved boozy weekend brunches. It's finally here - the most anticipated award list in the culinary world, The James Beard Awards. One of the most prestigious honors for food and beverage professionals, the foundation announced its list of semifinalists at a first-time live ceremony in Orlando, Florida last Wednesday.
