The Quiksilver Pro surfing contest made the bold move to Long Beach, and this time around planned the event be more like a surf festival, with concerts by bands like the Flaming Lips, Interpol and Matt and Kim, plus skate and BMX competitions. The city of Long Beach was expecting over 200,000 to turn out for the the first weekend alone.
