Holiday season means family. For the nightlife man, bottle service, a celebrity filled speed-dial, and access to the hottest clubs will do you absolutely no good when Grandma Betty asks about your life. Perhaps we can salvage your people skills, channel your energy, and give you a few little tricks that any female could tell you would be allowed in her parent’s house. More»

Back before Christina Aguilera was lip-syncing on a truck covered in streamers and Santa was accompanied by a bevy of leggy blondes, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade gave Americans a reason to sit back and revel at the spectacle of a balloon bigger than their home. Check out photos of the vintage floats of parades past.
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: watched by kids from ages 3-14 and adults over the age of 30. Everyone else forgets about it until they see the news recap during a NFL break of Santa ending the parade, officially beginning the holiday season. Here's a recap of our favorite floats from years past and how they would fit into your high school yearbook. More»
We're thankful for many things today, not least of which is the fact that the only time we've encountered cholera has been while playing Oregon Trail. This morning, as many of us travel home for the holidays, new reports from Haiti say that "hundreds of thousands" may be affected by the cholera outbreak in Haiti. More»
Boo hoo, stuck in the city on Thanksgiving while everyone else luxuriates in suburban bliss, sitting in front of a fireplace and probably even making a trip to Target. Whatever! We're not jealous. We have lots of things to be thankful for in the city this year... More»
We have so much to be thankful for this year. We live in the greatest city in the world, a place where reality TV show dreams become an actual reality, and the world's prettiest young things flock to for their movie release parties and their hit singles to be debuted amongst the socials dancing within the walls of 1Oak, Avenue, The Jane, (until recently) or even the Boom Boom Room if they're lucky. Be it personal preference or evil office policies of work on Friday, many of New York's most social will be in town this Wednesday through Sunday and we know just where they should pre-party, eat, and post party all weekend long. Skim through the must attend events, look back on what we were grateful for in years past, and don't forget to calculate the damage you're about to do to your winter figure. This is the holiday jump off people, let's get it started right! More»
Thanksgiving is a time to be around family and those you care about with a grand old fashioned meal emulating our ancestors who came before us. It also, apparently, is the perfect time to PARTY. Thanksgiving Eve has become the new New Years' Eve it seems, with every nightclub trying outdo the competition. Opera Nightclub (which I had never heard of but is on west 47th street), was no exception. Loads of partiers came out for the 6th Annual Jive Turkey Party. Who needs family when you've got friends like this to party with right?

This Thanksgiving, we have so much to be thankful for. Besides living in the best city in the world, in a country that we are proud to call home, we are thankful for our job, our friends, and our families. This includes all of our readers, our hard working interns, our photographers, and contributors. We are thankful for the material you all have provided us over the year to cover, and the people we have met along the way.
Special thanks to Scott and Naeem for always getting us first hand accounts of the best parties and events, to Steve Lewis (for his unwavering support), and Lockhart Steele for telling us what's up. Thanks to DBTH, Emily "The Eldridge" Brill, and the entire cast of NonSociety for giving us so much material to cover. Thanks to the Hamptons, Christopher Confessore, Douglas Marshall, Claire Willett, Kendra Seay, Carolina Francesca, Ari Cohen, Maggie Hunter, Sarah Jaffe, Kristina Jacobs, Katie Byrnes, John Norwood, Stephanie Wei, Christine Cho, Eric Spear, and everyone else that has been part of our growing team. Thank you to Stanley Wanley for keeping us all on our toes. Finally, thank god for Fridays off!
Gobble 'til you wobble folks! See you Monday!
