- A native New Yorker, Abigail has been cast in commercials since the age of three and acting in movies since the age of five.
- In the first movie she ever did, she played Mel Gibson's daughter in M. Night Shyamalan's "Signs."
- Acting runs in her family. Her older brother Spencer is also an actor, seen in movies such as "The Kid" (as a young version of Bruce Willis), "Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat" (with Dakota Fanning), and with Abigail in "Raising Helen."
- Breslin was named after Abigail Adams, wife of John Adams, second president of the USA.
- Abigail collects American Girl dolls. She has said Kit Kittredge was her favorite in the series, and ended up playing Kit onscreen.
