Bio

Keith Haring
Keith Haring was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, on May 4, 1958. He moved to New York City at 19 in order to study at the School of Visual Arts, and upon moving here, he drew inspiration from graffiti he saw around the city for his art. He quickly made a mark on the art world with his creative pop-art sketches and paintings, and he, along with close friend and fellow artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, helped bring graffiti into the fine art realm. He died on February 16, 1990 from AIDS related complications. [Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, photo via] [Photo via]
