Heiress, designer, style icon, couture collector - Daphne Guinness holds many titles, and even though the "most stylish woman alive" has been around for decades (about four now), it seems as if those not en Vogue are just catching word of the badger-haired beauty. That's right - you're not seeing in black and white. The Brit's hair is done up in streaks of black and white-blond, and has been for years. Her fashion trademark compliments her wardrobe of the black and white staples, recently worn out shopping in Soho (after the jump) with sky high platforms, a boyfriend blazer for the transitioning weather, and a Hermes bag. Congrats on walking in those things Daphne - and on the (aging) arm candy. More story and photos below...
The heiress to the Guinness beer fortune is known for her fondness for wildly outrageous fashion such as armour interpreted into clothing, as well as her fondness for wildly rich and handsome men. Her former husband is the Greek shipping billionaire Stavros Niarchos, and she's been linked with Bernard-Henri Levy and Andre Balasz. Sigh. A girl can dream, can't she?

I bumped into her around the meat-packing district recently and asked her for a street-fashion photo, without realizing it's her! -J [www.citizencouture.com]

I had the most terrific Daphne Guinness experience ever and I feel the need to share! Ms. Guinness was huddled in the corner at Balthazar in Soho with this striking/fanciful black guy - I only noticed them as I swear the entire restaurant seemed to be glued on their table. I am such a huge fan of "La Daphne" I couldn't resist approaching her. I knew I was taking a huge risk, but the black guy (who later turned out to be a designer, Malcolm Harris) invited me to join them. I almost pissed my pants. They spent the next 30 minutes explaining to me a very interesting art/fashion project they were working on as I sat their trembling like a junior high nerd. By the time this encounter was over they had offered me a dream internship and entrance into a private world young students like me only dream of. I start in less than a week and I am still trembling even typing this. I just had to share as both of these people are absolutely brilliant and awe inspiring in my opinion.

Yes - I got a few photos of her, which she posed for me. She was actually a bit embarrassed about it, but it was fun. I actually didn't know it was her until my friend point it out to me a few days later. You can see her photo on my street-fashion website: [www.citizencouture.com]
