Last night, Heart & Soul presented their Forrest Church Award to Dr. Paul Farmer at their 23rd Annual Gala Auction, a celebration and fundraiser for the charitable fund's support of the homeless and underprivileged.

Glasses and auction cards were raised as guests bid on a fabulous selection of luxury items and vacation packages.  The award, whose past recipients include Bill Clinton and Mayor Bloomberg, honors a singular individuals who “demonstrates a capacity for moral courage and selflessness while working towards the betterment of our world.” Dr. Farmer, a physician and medical anthropologist, is the founding director of Partners in Health, an organization that provides health care to victims of poverty worldwide.
