    It was a busy weekend for party goers. Some chose to celebrate their favorite magazine, some bought art for a good cause and some just raised their elbows and drank. Jill Zarin decided to behave herself, which was lucky for everyone.

    Avenue magazine turned a whopping 35 (which is near geriatric in magazine years) this weekend with a party at ultra chi-chi Lavo. Tinsely Mortimer, Dabney Mercer, and other high society types came out and toasted the birthday.

    Plenty of Housewives came out for the the 9th annual silent art auction at Metropolitan Pavilion celebrating established and emerging artists.  Jill Zarin acted as host. Her arch nemesis Bethenny Frankel was noticeably absent, as was Sonja Morgan who recently announced bankruptcy. Amanda Lepore looked fabulous and David LaChapelle accepted this years Out in Art Award.

    Last week was the first night of Thirst at CaVa with guests staying hydrated while they danced themselves to exhaustion. This week's party didn't see as much booty shaking, but was certainly just as fun.
