Director Michel Gondry celebrated the release of his documentary, The Thorn in the Heart, at Thompson LES last night.-

Friends joined the French music video director and filmmaker extraordinaire to toast his intimate documentary.

The film centers on the Gondry family matriarch, his aunt Suzette, and her troubled relationship with her son, Jean-Yves.

With home movies and interviews with relatives, viewers get a sense of what growing up Gondry was truly like. Even though the film has received mixed reviews, nothing was putting Michel in a sour mood last night!
